As a piano teacher, I am devoted to inspiring both a deep understanding and a love of music. My degrees in Piano Performance, Musicology and Music Theory (Ph.D. Columbia) are complemented by many years of experience teaching children and adults at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
I tailor my teaching to the individual personalities, interests and learning styles of my students. Some focus exclusively on classical music, others play a variety of popular styles as well. To enrich my students’ knowledge, I incorporate music theory, history, and analysis into the lessons. I also teach music appreciation to adults who may not play the piano, but want to enhance their experiences listening to music.
